Grading Scale for 100 Questions

On a 100-question test, each question is worth 1%, so every wrong answer lowers the score by 1 percentage points. That is typical of a final exam or a long practice test. The chart below shows the percentage and letter grade for every possible score, from 100 right down to 0.

Borderline scores to watch

No score on a 100-question test rounds up into a higher letter grade, so your rounding policy never changes a grade on a test this size (standard plus/minus scale).

Need a different grade scale, half points or bonus questions? The EZ Grader rebuilds this chart with your school’s cutoffs, Class Mode grades a whole class list at once, the grade chart library compares test sizes side by side, and the same grade calculator works out weighted and final grades.

Compared with a 90-question test, where each miss costs 1.11 points, a miss here costs 1 points, so every answer matters a little less.

What percentage is 99 out of 100?
99 out of 100 is 99%, which is an A+ on the standard plus/minus scale.
