Grading Scale for 10 Questions
On a 10-question test, each question is worth 10%, so every wrong answer lowers the score by 10 percentage points. That is typical of a short quiz or exit ticket. The chart below shows the percentage and letter grade for every possible score, from 10 right down to 0.
Letter grades on a 10-question test
This summary uses the standard plus/minus scale (A from 93%, A− from 90%, B+ from 87% and so on down to D− at 60%). For a plain scale, an A needs 9 right (miss up to 1), a B allows 2 misses, a C allows 3, and a D allows 4.
| Grade | Right | Wrong | Percentage |
|---|---|---|---|
| A+ | 10 | 0 | 100% |
| A | No possible score on a 10-question test | ||
| A− | 9 | 1 | 90% |
| B+ | No possible score on a 10-question test | ||
| B | No possible score on a 10-question test | ||
| B− | 8 | 2 | 80% |
| C+ | No possible score on a 10-question test | ||
| C | No possible score on a 10-question test | ||
| C− | 7 | 3 | 70% |
| D+ | No possible score on a 10-question test | ||
| D | No possible score on a 10-question test | ||
| D− | 6 | 4 | 60% |
| F | 0–5 | 5–10 | 0–50% |
Because each question is worth 10%, some letter grades can’t be reached at all on a 10-question test: A, B+, B, C+, C, D+, D. Scores jump straight over those ranges. If that matters for your grade book, use half-point scoring in the EZ Grader (Settings → Half points).

Borderline scores to watch
No score on a 10-question test rounds up into a higher letter grade, so your rounding policy never changes a grade on a test this size (standard plus/minus scale).
Compared with a 9-question test, where each miss costs 11.11 points, a miss here costs 10 points, so every answer matters a little less.
