Frequently Asked Questions

Is TeacherCalculator.net really free?
Yes, every calculator on this site is free to use, with no account, no credit card and no premium tier. There's nothing locked behind a paywall.
Which calculator should I use to grade a test?
Start with the EZ Grader Calculator — enter the number of questions and it builds a full grading chart instantly, with support for half points, bonus points and your own grading scale. Its Class Mode grades a whole class list at once, and its Weighted Grade and Final Grade tabs handle course grades. The Teacher Calculator is a simpler all-in-one alternative.
Where can I find a grading scale for a specific number of questions?
Every test length from 5 to 100 questions has its own printable chart, for example the 20-question, 25-question and 50-question grading scales. The grade chart page lists them all, and the EZ Grader builds a chart for any other length up to 500 questions.
Which calculator should I use for GPA?
Use the GPA Calculator to work out your GPA from courses and credits — it shows your weighted and unweighted GPA side by side and plans the grades you need next semester. The GPA Scale Guide explains what every GPA from 2.0 to 4.0 means, and you can use the GPA Calculator Without Credits to average your own grades, or the Grade to GPA Calculator to convert a single letter grade or percentage.
Do you have a scientific calculator?
Yes. The free scientific calculator handles trig, logs, powers, roots, fractions and memory, and the fx-991CW style calculator adds an equation solver, statistics and calculus. For specific topics there are step-by-step quadratic formula, system of equations, standard deviation, significant figures and scientific notation calculators.
Can students use these tools, not just teachers?
Yes. The grading tools are built for teachers, but students commonly use them to estimate a score before a test is returned, and the GPA tools are built with students in mind from the start. The official grade always comes from the teacher.
Do you store or share my data?
The numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser. Settings like a custom grading scale or theme are saved on your own device so they're there next time you visit — they aren't sent anywhere or shared with anyone.
I can't find a calculator for what I need — what now?
Check the full list under "Find the Right Calculator" above — it covers grading, GPA, semester planning, and math and science tools like the scientific calculator. If something is still missing, the Contact Us page is the fastest way to let us know.

A Note From the Team
